Filial Piety

As the saying goes, “Filial piety is the root of all
virtues.” And “When one wants to repay his parents, he
regrets not doing so when they were still alive.” That is
to say, the most important virtue of all is to respect our
parents. Today I want to tell you a story.
There once was a mother bird, who fed her baby
bird every day. As time went by, the mother bird got
old. The baby eventually grew up, and he learned how
to get worms on his own. When he wanted to feed his
mother, she had already passed away. The young bird
could not help but cry. Even animals knew they had to
respect and support their own parents. Not to mention
we are humans.
This story reminds me of the time when my
mother had to take a business trip overseas. Every
