Many people will confuse a cheetah with a
leopard as at a distance but there are several
key differences to notice close up. Firstly, whilst
both have patterns on their fur, they are not the
same. The cheetah’s fur has bigger black
circles, whereas a leopard’s patter is made up
irregular shapes that are brown and black in
color. The cheetah has tear lines, which are the
black lines running from their eyes to their
mouth. Leopards, however, do not have these
lines. Cheetah’s eyes are an amber color
whereas leopards have blue-green eyes. The
other key difference is in their paws, cheetahs
have small front paws and big black pas but it
the other way around for leopards. So if you see
a big cat close up, there is no need to be
confused to whether it is a cheetah or a leopard.
